Monarch cabin luggage restrictions

Monarch operates a two-tier cabin baggage policy.

How many pieces of luggage can I bring in the cabin with me?

Monarch passengers have two options - either one piece of hand luggage no bigger than 56 x 40 x 25cm or two separate pieces of hand baggage, as long as the combined size is no bigger than 56 x 40 x 25cm (for example, a small duffel bag and a laptop bag).

How much can each weigh?

Whichever option passengers choose, the total weight of your hand luggage must weigh no more than 10 kilograms on scheduled flights.

Can I book a hold bag on a single leg, and travel hand-luggage only on the other?

Yes. A typical 20kg hold bag costs around £15 (online), £20 (via phone) or £36 (at the airport) per leg.

Am I allowed any items in addition to my one cabin bag?

Whichever hand baggage option passengers choose, they may carry one small bag of duty-free goods from the airport in the cabin, in addition to their cabin baggage brought from home.

Anything else?

Infants travelling on an adult’s lap do not have a hand baggage allowance. They can have a 10kg hold luggage allowance as long as one of the adults they are flying with purchases a hold bag. Pushchairs, prams and car seats are carried free of charge in the hold. See Monarch's full guidelines on cabin luggage.
