The Crab Hut, Brancaster Staithe
Simon Letzer has really cornered this fishing business. He catches lobster, crab, bass, cod, skate and whiting from his boat, Speedwell, in Brancaster Staithe, and runs a smokehouse in Ringstead where he uses traditional methods to smoke Scottish salmon, cod, herring, mackerel and prawns. (Described as “seriously good” by foodie Tom Parker-Bowles.)
He also runs The Crab Hut at Brancaster Staithe, serving baguettes stuffed with crab, prawns, cockles, mussels, whelks, rollmops, crayfish, smoked salmon, kippers and lobster. Not bad for a day’s work, Si.
