The start of spring heralds the opportunity for a revamp. And by this we don’t necessarily mean splashing the cash on a whole new wardrobe. We’re talking about the style nips/tucks – fashion Botox, if you will – that reinvigorate your look.
The shirt is a key player for transitional months. Trade in your samey white cottons for an interesting alternative. Think collarless tunic styles (great over wide-leg trousers), tie-waists (very flattering) and embellished collars (wear peeping out over a round-neck jumper).
Light-weight outerwear (think trench coats, mannish blazers and kimono-style jackets) are your friend. As is bright knitwear. Go for shades of purple, blue, pink and yellow - these will propel you stylishly towards spring. Take the same approach to trouser suits to remove all wintry connotations.
And experiment with accessories. Add a brooch to your lapel or a ribbon to your shirt collar to freshen up your favourite pieces.
